Summer Glow in one palette

Model and activist Sydney Porter gets her glow on.

The limited edition High Summer Glow palette is this season’s smartest beauty buy. Packing six dewy shades – from rosy pink shimmer to a deep bronzer – in one palette, this will be your MVP this summer. 

For some IRL inspiration, we turned to Sydney Porter, who combines modelling with studies in creative writing. Judging from her Instagram, we also believe she has a PhD in glowy, perfectly bronzed looks. 

This one Sydney created by first applying some of the pink to her cheeks, for a naturally flushed look. Then she moved on to one of the highlighters (choose the one you like the most) and applied it to the highest points of her cheeks. She used her fingers to dab some of the highlighter onto her eyelids, too. And for an extra glowy look – dab your finger in product and drag it along the bridge of your nose. Remember – the key to a glowy, dewy look is to keep your skin well moisturised. And if you use foundation, do not put any mattifying powder on top. 

Sydney Porter’s beauty philosophy is all about letting your inner light shine through. 

”Beauty definitely comes from within. If someone is hateful it shines through. Inner beauty means you are trying to be a good person. I want to dedicate my life to charity, and I want to go into the peace corps and help others.”

HOW DO YOU GET GLOWING SKIN?
”I didn't know I had glowing skin till people started asking me about it, so I think it comes down to being vegan, and to my genetics. Something that definitely enhances my glow is exfoliating before applying a facemask, a good toner and using highlighter. That's definitely key. I mask two or three times a week, use a toner every day, scrub every day. I want to be very moisturised before I put any makeup on.” 

WHAT DIFFERENCES HAVE YOU NOTICED SINCE GOING VEGAN?
”It makes such a huge difference. When I still ate dairy and eggs, my skin was always congested and dull. When I switched to vegan, my skin started glowing immediately. So definitely stay away from milk and eggs, and drink lots of water and eat as much fruit and vegetables as you can.”

WHAT'S YOUR BEST BEAUTY ADVICE?
”Take care of yourself, because stress and lack of sleep affect your look and everything else. I keep my makeup routine very minimal and focus on taking care of my skin first.”
