If you want to go one step further than a natural look, but don’t fancy a full-blown smokey eye, the sunken-eye is the one for you. It’s surprisingly easy to pull off, thanks to the use of mushroom-brown tones that suit most complexions. You will, however, need a nice blender brush like the Crease Blending Brush to get right into the sockets and buff out the edges properly. The goal is a soft wash of earthy-toned eyeshadow along the top lid and up to the brow bone, plus under the eye. Apply over the entire top lid with a windscreen wiper motion and go as high as you want to the brow. Under the eye, just follow the lash line. Blend so there aren’t any harsh lines anywhere. The sunken-eye is not only a fashion-forward, undone look, but it also gives an utterly chic vibe. Just make sure to apply the same kind of softness to your other features – neutral lips with maybe a hint of gloss and velvety skin, for example.
