Not getting off on the no-makeup makeup-trend? Do like the It-girls of Instagram and use your painterly talent to make the fresh-faced look a lot more exciting. We asked the multi-talented and impossibly beautiful model Lily Yeung (she's also a student, an aspiring designer and a vintage collector) to show us the ropes.
Before applying eyeliner, she fills in her brows with the Brow Pro Eyebrow kit, adds a subtle dash of color to her eyelids using the Travel Size Makeup Palette and swipes a couple strokes of powder on her cheeks. Then it's time to get down to business.
Lily's secret to succeeding with the perfect everyday winged eyeliner is simple. Using a liquid eyeliner, she places her elbow on a flat surface to keep her hand steady and starts lining from the center of her eye and outwards, doing several small strokes till she hits the corner of her eye. Then she chooses which angle she wants the wing to have and does a few final swipes towards the temple.
WHAT'S YOUR BEST ADVICE TO ACHIEVE THE PERFECT EYELINER?
“Follow the shape of your eye and be really patient because it's easy to mess up. It's good to draw a dot where you want the line to end, and to sit down with your elbow on a flat surface to have a steady arm, then start really small and build up. If it's not perfect, just go back with a cotton swab dipped in makeup-remover and start again.”
