H&M and Amnesty Business Group
At H&M we like to listen to the world around us in our work on human rights and social responsibility. A good way of doing this is to conduct a dialogue with various voluntary organisations.
Amnesty International, which works to promote human rights, is an organisation which likes to have a dialogue with companies and which also demands that companies work ethically and take responsibility for their conduct on such issues. In Sweden H&M is a member of the Amnesty Business Group, part of the Swedish section of Amnesty International which works with companies with a view to increasing respect for human rights in the world.
As a member of Amnesty Business Group, H&M has access to Amnesty's knowledge network and can exchange experience with other international companies which are also part of the Amnesty Business Group. Their various reports and other publications give us insight into the problems that exist in the countries in which our clothes are produced. We can also get advice on the correct way to deal with human rights issues in our business.
