Halloween is the spookiest time of the year, so we decided to look to all things mysterious and magical for this week’s Hit List. Here are ten of the most stylish witches, wizards and magicians.

Criss Angel is a magician who does things his way. With a reputation for public mind games and feats of endurance, Angel’s love of motorcycle-influenced fashion and rock star hair has helped him become one of the world’s favourite magic tricksters.

9. PRINCESS TENKO
Japanese entertainer Princess Tenko is much more than just a magician. The former pop star trained with renowned magician Tenko Hikita and inherited his role when he died. Now she performs daring tricks and escape stunts around the world with dazzling showmanship throughout.

Prue, Piper and Phoebe, the three sisters of the tv series Charmed, are the kind of witches who use their powers for good. Those powers include telekinesis and premonition, but the sisters also had the power of style on their side, with their own laidback casual late 1990's look.

Cate Blanchett’s turn as elf queen Galadriel in The Lord of the Rings, dressed in white robes with flowing blonde tresses, created a new standard for mystical beings – they must be beautiful and ethereal as well as mighty and magical.

He might be the world’s best-loved wizard, but let’s not forget about Harry’s Hogwarts fashion credentials, too. Underneath those black robes was a surprisingly chic maroon-and-mustard uniform that walked the line between preppy and prim.

Siegfried and Roy made a name for themselves by blending stage magic with rare lions and tigers in their shows, and the double act wowed audiences with their glitzy themed costumes as well as their tricks – until Roy was sadly injured in a tiger accident in 2003.

4. LENA HORNE IN THE WIZ
Hollywood legend Lena Horne took on the role of Glinda, Good Witch of the South in The Wiz, the 1978 musical reworking of The Wizard of Oz. Dressed in sequins and rhinestones, she showed what being a witch is really about: dressing in maximum sparkles.

Angie was a magical dream in the role of the evil fairy queen Maleficent in the reimagining of the classic Sleeping Beauty tale. Her gothic look cut a sharp figure as the evil spirit who puts princess Aurora under her wicked spell.
