H&M supports earthquake victims in Haiti
In response to the devastating earthquake on 12 January in Haiti, H&M has donated USD 280 664 to support UNICEF’s relief efforts.
Customers in several countries were able to make direct donations to UNICEF in H&M stores. H&M employees were also given the chance to contribute to UNICEF and other aid organisations working in Haiti. Two weeks after the earthquake the total donation to UNICEF by H&M, our customers and employees amounts to USD 667 298.
UNICEF’s first priority is to ensure that children, who comprise almost half of the country’s population of 10 million, get essential help as soon as possible. Their efforts will focus on providing clean water and sanitation, therapeutic food for infants and small children, medical supplies and temporary shelter and protection.
H&M has collaborated with UNICEF since 2004, and contributed to the organisation’s catastrophe relief work several times.
