Melbourne’s cooler Autumn months call for simplistic layering, all black everything, rock n’ roller leather essentials, denim on denim on denim, minxy leopard statement pieces and sporadic splashes of chilli red tones. Here are some of the best looks.

Layers over layers, and hemlines above ankles, the Melbourne girl is all class.

On the streets black ankle boots are the staple shoe of the season, while classic leather motorcycle jackets continue to feature as a wardrobe staple. Trends we're seeing as the weather gets cooler include cropped hemlines hopeful reminders of warmer days, roll neck knits in all colours from grey and black to burgundy and khaki, denim in all shapes, shades and stages of distress and oversized scarves.

We're always on the hunt for something playful, whether it be a touch of lippy or a bold statement piece, print is the power colour of this season and is sure to be noticed in this cities normal sea of black.

From clear skies to torrential downpours whatever she's wearing the Melbourne girl knows layers are essential for our signature four seasons in one day.
